2022 is a busy year for OnePlus as it’s releasing several phones, one of which we’re covering today – the OnePlus 10R. It seems that, like the previous “R” models that OnePlus has launched, this phone will be restricted to the Chinese and Indian markets, so there likely won’t be an option to import it from abroad. But how disappointed is the rest of the world going to be about missing out on this phone? Is it worth buying the OnePlus 10R, or is your money better spent elsewhere? We’re here to give you everything you need to know about the OnePlus 10R to make that decision a little easier.
The design of the phone is something that immediately catches the eye, particularly if you see the phone face down. On one half of the back cover, there are ridges going from the camera cluster all the way down to the bottom of the phone. Not only does this make the phone stand out from others if you were to compare them, but it also helps with grip when taking a one-handed photo. Innovations like this are part of the reason why OnePlus phones are popular in India and China. The phone comes in two choices of colour, black or mint green.
One of the highlights of this phone is its display. It has a 6.7-inch fluid AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it one of the better options available on the market. With a resolution of 1080 x 2412, it will be capable of playing videos and games in ultra-high definition. This screen is perfect for video streaming, picture viewing, and even playing the latest online casino games. These games have stunning animation and design, with roulette being a particular highlight. The game has come a long way from a simple animation of a ball spinning around a wheel; they now offer full 3D versions of roulette games that immerse you fully in the experience. Online casinos have plenty of bonuses for their new and existing players, which you can take advantage of when you sign up. If you want to play online roulette, India has plenty of sites to choose from, so make sure you compare their pros and cons to find the best site for you. Whichever site you choose, the games will look stunning on the OnePlus 10R.
Inside the phone, you have power, storage, and battery life options, depending on how much you want to spend. There are three different specs of phones to choose from. The cheapest option, coming in at ₹38,999, has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, 80W charging, and a 5000mAh battery. The middling option, coming in at ₹42,999, has 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 80W charging, and a 5000mAh battery. The most expensive option comes at ₹43,999 and has 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 150W charging, and a 4500mAh battery. So, the more you pay, the more RAM and storage you get. Whether or not this is worth it for you will depend on how much you use your phone on a daily basis. If you’re using it a lot and have lots of apps, photos, and videos you want to save, you’re better off going for the more expensive option.
The chipset of the 10R is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max, a clear upgrade over the Dimensity 8000 we saw in previous phones. It boasts 20% more GPU frequency and 25% better CPU power efficiency than its predecessor, meaning it can easily handle anything you throw at it. One slightly disappointing area is its operating system, as it’s powered by Oxygen OS 12.1 – an OS often maligned for its poor text scaling and notification system.
The camera configuration on the back of the phone is a triple camera setup. It has a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. While this may not be cutting edge, it’s more than enough to take high-quality photos. It’s also capable of capturing high-quality videos, as you can shoot 4K videos at 30FPS and 1080p videos at 30, 60, and 120FPS. The selfie camera is a 16MP wide lens and can shoot 1080p videos at 30FPS.
